I'm Not Sure It's Worth It... but whatever!

The idea for this blog idea just hit me today, and I figured I would go for it. It would be an easier way for people to be able to keep up with what's going on with me this year. There are two problems with this idea, though. 1. I hope that I will have the energy to keep up with the posting. 2. Who exactly is it that I think really cares about the everyday activities of my life. I'm just going to have to get over these two problems and go for it.... we'll see what happens.

Eventful Uneventfulness

So as of now there has not been too much excitement, mostly due to the fact that school hasn't started yet. Right now it is all book buying, reading, and trying to figure out roommate assignments. The book that I have to read for my Honors class is The Lucifer Effect which uses the Stanford Prison Experiment to show how certain situations can make perfectly normal, law-abiding people engage in activities that are considered "evil". It's an okay book, but I feel like there is a lot of repetition that draws the book out to its labored 534 pages. I'm slowly trudging through it every night before bed and hopefully will finish... I purchased all of my books from half.com, which (as per the name) made my books cost half the amount they were going to at the school bookstore, which was very much appreciated by the padres.
The more distressing part of getting prepped for school right now is my lack of a roommate. The rest of the freshmen got their roommates at the beginning of July. After mine had yet to be posted last week I called housing and they told my that as of right now I simply didn't have one. For some people this would be nice, a double room all to yourself, but I feel like I will be lacking the one instant friend that you have in a roommate, so I'm quite bummed and hope that one will show up soon.
